Life can turn you upside down and inside out...

I thought life had tossed the worst at me when I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Fast forward a few years and life was turned upside down once again with the diagnosis of my husband's incurable stomach cancer.  His death from this horrible sickness came nine months later. My 27-year-old son received a diagnosis with stage 4 pancreatic cancer barely three months later.

I’ve walked this path too—through illness, caregiving, and overwhelming loss. My experience has shown me that while grief changes us, it doesn’t have to stop us.

Life isn't always easy, but it is always worth living...

I know it is easy to want to give up, to pull the covers over your head and hide from what life has tossed in your lap, but that is not living.

You don't have to take this road alone, and I want you to know that I am here for you. I have a lot of resources, many free on my main website that can help you find moments of peace, joy, and yes—even laughter—on this difficult journey.

Please come on over. I am here to help you embrace the "schmidts" in life.
